The British International School Cairo is a long established and reputable academic school in Egypt and the region. BISC has an uncompromising commitment to delivering the highest standards of education. Academic accomplishments are high, placing the school in the first division of independent and selective schools. The school teaches the British National Curriculum for 3-16 and the International Baccalaureate Diploma at 16-18. With the hallmarks and expectations of a first-class UK independent school. Staff are well qualified and experienced, the vast majority of them are recruited from the UK. There is a strong and supportive tutorial system for academic and pastoral development. BISC is a flourishing and highly successful international co-educational school, drawing students from diverse nationalities and backgrounds. It is dedicated to the principles of a broad education in its academic curriculum and varied activities programme. It is a non-denominational school, welcoming students from all faiths and traditions and embracing the principles of openmindedness and understanding. In September 2008 the school successfully relocated in the upwardly mobile district of Beverly Hills, located to the west of Cairo. This is a flagship build, on a 65,000m2 campus, giving the school some of the best educational facilities in the region. The new campus is breathtaking in its sheer scale and quality. Each classroom is equipped with leading-edge technology, interactive whiteboards and ergonomically-designed furniture. Within the school, there are six science labs, three ICT suites and two high-tech libraries, all UK designed, equipping the school in a way that befits its setting. There are dedicated areas for the creative arts, a six hundred and sixty seat theatre, specialist play areas, six tennis courts, two swimming pools, two football pitches, and basketball courts, a double-sized gymnasium, a fitness suite, and running track. The School is a not-for-profit organisation and a member of BSME, COBIS, ECIS and IAPS. |
