Founded in 1978, Dubai College is a not-for-profit institution with 850 pupils in the 11-18 year age range. Students are taught in small class sizes by graduates who have experience of teaching in English National Curriculum schools leading to GCSE and A Level qualifications. The school achieves public examination results which compare favourably with the top independent schools in the UK and, in addition, offers a wide range of activities including the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme up to Gold level. Pastoral care is considered important and great emphasis is placed on the needs of individual pupils. The school's facilities are extensive and include a newly refurbished Sixth Form Centre, 960 seat capacity state-of-the-art Auditorium, Music Centre, grassed playing areas and a library containing print, audio, video and computing resources. In addition to being a member of BSME, the school is also a member of HMC (Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference) as well as being a centre for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music examinations. |
